Leadership in Complexity
Is a Capacity,
Not a Technique

Embodied Relational Leadership

This work is for leaders and organisations navigating structural change and transformation.

Leadership today asks for more than strategy — it asks for the capacity to remain present with uncertainty, difference and interdependence.

Together we strengthen the embodied and relational capacities required to lead in these times.

Learnable capacities

Leadership capacity grows not only through new ideas, but through new ways of perceiving, relating, and acting.

The cultivation of inner and relational capacities are not abstract ideals.

They are learnable.

Wholeness

Wholeness is the capacity to perceive and act from the larger field.

It recognises people and organisations not as machines to optimise, but as living systems nested in social, cultural and ecological realities.

In practice, this means:
– Integrating multiple perspectives, analytical and intuitive ways of knowing.
– Making decisions with this (inter)systemic awareness
– Creating cultures where people do not need to fragment themselves to belong.

Presence

Presence is the embodied capacity to remain aware and relational — especially under pressure.

In complex environments, the internal state of the leader becomes part of the system itself. Presence allows response rather than reaction, and clarity without urgency-driven force.

In practice, this shows up as:
– Regulating oneself before attempting to regulate others
– Listening beneath positions to what truly matters

Co-creation is the capacity to lead with, rather than over. It recognises that intelligence is distributed across the system.

This capacity shifts leadership from control and dominance to stewardship and relational responsibility. Durable change emerges through participation.

In practice, this looks like:
– Designing meaningful participation, not performative consultation
– Inviting diverse perspectives into strategic conversations
– Building cultures of mutual accountability.

Co-creation

This work is for...

Drawing on over 15 of facilitation, leadership coaching and organisational change work across the UK and the Netherlands, this work is for senior leaders and teams wanting to develop the capacities to stay present in complexity, act with embodied clarity in decision-making and lead with rather than over.

It is particularly suited for those committed to purpose beyond profit: purpose-led businesses, social impact organisations, and anyone reshaping leadership.

This work is for those who sense that traditional leadership models no longer meet the moment — yet who are unwilling to abandon rigour, responsibility, or results.

Leadership in complex times is rarely navigated alone

If you would like to explore what this work could make possible in your leadership and organisation, we can begin with a conversation — exploring what is emerging in your context and which capacities are asking to be strengthened.
